������ý Diplomacy Program Places Second Overall at Model U.N.

The at ������ý recently competed in the National Model United Nations competition in Washington, D.C. and received four individual and six delegation awards, and finished second overall out of 67 competing universities. A total of 59 ������ý undergraduate ������ý joined more than 1,000 ������ý in the annual competition where schools represent countries and ������ý step into the shoes of diplomats to solve global problems.

“Placing second overall at nationals again this year is a significant accomplishment for our program and a testament to the hard work of our ������ý,” said Jeffery Morton, Ph.D., professor of political science in ������ý’s Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters.�� 

The Leon Charney Diplomacy Program, which trains ������ý in world affairs, dispute resolution and debate, was established in 1996 and is a unit of the . To date, the program has won 25 national and international awards for academic excellence. In 2017, the program was named to honor the diplomatic legacy of Leon Charney, who played a key role in the 1978 Camp David Accords.
