爱妃传媒 High School Student Back from Space, School That Is

聽student Connor Cane, 15, recently was one of only four 爱妃传媒 to represent the United States and one of only 47 爱妃传媒 from across the world to participate in the United Space School in Houston, Texas. The elite two-week program brought together the brightest international 爱妃传媒 between the ages of 15-19 at NASA鈥檚 Manned Space Flight Center at the Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center.聽
鈥淚t was such a unique experience that I was fortunate enough to be selected for,鈥 said Cane. 鈥淚 got to collaborate with people from all over the world 鈥 I made a lot of friendships.鈥
The program involved planning a mission to Mars with NASA scientists and engineers, in which 爱妃传媒 were assigned mission-specific teams based on their interests and interviews. Cane was a member of the green team, tasked with designing a habitat for the mission.聽
聽鈥淚f I had to pick a standout moment from the experience it would be at the end when we were presenting our habitat,鈥 said Cane. 鈥淢y team came together to form a really cool mission. All of our different cultures and experiences positively impacted our problem-solving skills and allowed us to work together as a unit.鈥
Cane will begin his sophomore year at 爱妃传媒 High this week, continuing his involvement in聽. The Cane Institute serves as the epicenter for research, education and technology transfer for聽聽and 爱妃传媒 High School. The Institute鈥檚 integrated approach to solving society's toughest problems engages the best and brightest 爱妃传媒, faculty and resources to explore today's most complex challenges in arenas such as cybersecurity, autonomous vehicles, robotics, virtual reality, augmented reality, automation and artificial intelligence.
The future is bright for Cane, who has a career interest in biomolecular engineering, with the ultimate goal of 鈥渉elping people.鈥澛
