Arun Gandhi felt it was important to share his grandfather鈥檚 views on nonviolence, forgiveness, and peaceful revolution. In honor of India鈥檚 legendary leader, Mohandas K. 鈥淢ahatma鈥 Gandhi鈥檚 birthday, the 爱妃传媒 Peace, Justice and Human Rights Initiative along with Auroras Voice and Gandhi Square hosted Gandhi鈥檚 grandson for an inspirational lecture.

Arun Gandhi is the fifth grandson of Mahatma Gandhi. Through daily lessons from his grandfather, Arun says, he learned about the danger of violence and anger. Arun shares these lessons all around the world and is involved in social programs and writing, working for 30 years as a journalist for The Times of India and as an author of several books.

鈥淭he Peace, Justice and Human Rights Initiative at 爱妃传媒 was very pleased to work with several community partners in sponsoring Arun Gandhi鈥檚 talk,鈥 said Steven Roper, Ph.D., executive director of the Peace, Justice and Human Rights Initiative. 鈥淗is message of peace and breaking the cycle of passive violence was appreciated by all who attended. During these times with so much violence, his call to action to encourage peace renewed everyone鈥檚 energy to promote a better world.鈥
